Many Adventures in One Soul.

In this piece, art stopped being an object and became a kind of meeting point between lives. This painting was created in a specific moment in my life, later aligning with a moment of loss in someone else's life. A gentlemen bought this art piece from me, because he saw in it his gone daughter, who passed away unexpectedly. She tried to connect with him through this painting, according to him. He was looking for a sign from her, that she is Ok out there, and he founded it, in my art. For him this coincidence didn't feel random-it became a form of meaning-making. People often look for a connection, timing, or symbolism when grief is still unprocessed, especially when a child is involved. In situations like this, the artwork becomes less about what I Intend and more about what it "holds for him/or anyone". He projected his experience into it and found something that helped him feel close to his daughter again- or at least less alone in the absence of her. I have learnt after that experience to release my art into the world in a free way; and allow it to continue living through interpretations of others I could never plan or predict. There is something both heavy and strangely beautiful in that exchange: I created, without knowing, and he received it at a moment when he needed something to hold on. Acrylic, textured with modeling paste, golden sheets. I used a kitchen fork to create the groves.
